This is a follow up message with regards to Tyler Derouin, a 4th year DDS student who was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this month. Tyler is currently undergoing treatment at the nearby U of MN Medical Center. We are going to be hosting a Taco dinner in efforts to raise money for Tyler and his family as medical bills begin to pile up. The following contains information about donations and the Taco dinner.
Taco Dinner: ***Tickets will be sold outside of the 4th Floor locker room beginning Sept. 17th until Sept. 25th from 12:00pm to 1:00 pm.
Tickets: $15 dollar minimum donation (please make checks payable to SOD Council of Students)
Who: Classmates, Faculty, Staff, Spouses and Friends
When: Wednesday, September 25th from 4:30-7:00 pm
Where: 1-450 Moos tower (across from Retromolar Pad)
Why: Donate to support a fellow student, friend and colleague who needs our help.

On Friday, September 6th our classmate and friend Tyler Derouin (DDS4) was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia. In order to help out Tyler and his family in this difficult time, a benefit has been planned for the evening of Wednesday, September 25th. Please join Tyler’s friends, classmates and family for an evening to include a taco bar dinner, homemade desserts and good company to raise money and wish Tyler a speedy recovery.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the September Council of Students meeting will be moved to Friday, September 13th over the lunch hour in Moos 2-118.
For the 2013-2014 academic year, the Council of Students will meet on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings will be held in Moos 2-118. The fall semester meeting dates are:
September 12th, October 10th, November 14th and December 12th
The Council of Students will vote on two new constitutional amendments at the next meeting. The amendments are needed to reflect changes in School of Dentistry student representation within the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA). The following amendments were presented at the May 23rd meeting.

Our May meeting has been rescheduled to accommodate classes that are on break. The new meeting will be held on Thursday, May 23rd during the lunch hour. Location TBD.

The Council of Students meets monthly during the Fall and Spring semester during the lunch hour. Summer semester meetings are held as needed.
